As an avid home-schooler, I have experimented with a variety of curriculum to keep the attention of my students. Variety after all, is the spice of life. After a fairly long stint with purchasing school textbooks and workbooks from Ebay and other sites, I decided to try something a little different.
At first sight, I thought at the very least, that it would be a bit of additional work to give us a break during spring vacation. I was more than surprised and pleased to see that it was a full and well rounded curriculum. What was even more astounding to me, was seeing the little people in my house, (who at times have to be prodded, begged and/or threatened to do daily assignments....) wake me up and ask me can they do schoolwork. I have a 4th grader who despite being very intelligent, sometimes struggles with focus. Time4learning.com managed to keep his attention every single day of the trial period. I liked having the flexibility to adjust grade level based on subjects. This allowed my student to work at his level in each subject.
I have a gifted student who becomes easily bored when she is not challenged. She absolutely loved the classes. Though and 8th grader, I enrolled her in 9th grade to allow her to get a taste of high school. It not only kept her attention but satisfied her intellect. She would often excitedly relay what she had learned in Biology. I was impressed by the terminology she would often use in describing what she had learned in the class.
Now for the cons....(sorry) Although I really liked the program...and I mean WE all really enjoyed it!! It just isn't an affordable option for our family with 3 students. Honestly that along with Highschool only having 4 subjects is the only major con. The cost would be $19.95 for our first student $14.95 and $30.00 for our high-school student. Costing us each month $64.90 and annually $778.80 for 12 mos. or $649.00 for 10 mos. Right now I spend a little over $100.00 purchasing textbooks and work books from a few web sites, library and swaps. If money is no object for you than I would absolutely recommend Time4learning.com.
